David Ensminger’s new book, Visual Vitriol: The Street Art and Subcultures of the Punk and Hardcore Generation, re-considers punk concert fliers as urban folk art. talk: members of Mydolls, Really Red, Party Owls and others will discuss topics related to the film and book with photographer Ben DeSoto and the author at Domy Book, Houston location.  Ensminger sees punk fliers as “instant art, Xerox art, or DIY street art,” and recasts them as spaces for resistance for marginalized communities. His 25-minute film, Chronicles from the Zero Hour, will be shown at 9pm and features members of Chumbawamba, Epoxies, Dag Nasty, Strike Anywhere, Lifetime, and live footage of Circle Jerks and TSOL.
