June 9 - August 31, 2011
Part historian, part archivist, part sociologist, Lauren Woods collects “videographic texts,” using snippets from Hollywood cinema, pop culture, and history to comment on race, gender, and politics. Woods was a resident at CentralTrak in Dallas last year. Notes of a Native Daughter is supported by the National Performance Network, and is her first solo exhibition in Texas.
