February 3 - August 12, 2011
Rice University Art Gallery has commissioned a new installation by New York artist Mary Temple. In her “light installations,” Mary Temple paints directly on walls and floors creating experiential environments in which light and shadows appear to be cast from nearby windows, despite the absence of a natural light source. Northwest Corner, Southeast Light is the largest to date in Mary Temple’s ongoing light installation series.
