Amy Revier spent nine months of 2010 in Iceland on a Fulbright fellowship. Her most recent body of work, A Quiet Root May Know How to Holler, distills that experience and captures the spirit of paradox that inhabits the land. Mixing humor and horror with physical beauty, the series (which derives its title from an Anne Carson poem) is a group of digitally manipulated photographs printed on aluminum, which is one of Iceland’s chief exports. The photo collages will be accompanied by small sculpture and woven drawings.
