Texas Gallery brings the work of John Newman to Houston in an exhibition featuring his sculptures and drawings. In Newman’s sculptures, poetic transformations result from the displacement and juxtaposition of unrelated objects. Newman began his formal art education in 1972 with an independent study program at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York where he continues to live and work. His sculptural oeuvre spans 29 years of solo exhibitions, group shows, and commissions.
