Ben Steele, Bataan Death March Survivor and POW, exhibits a collection of 87 reproduced drawings and paintings that provide a glimpse into the life of captivity during war. Held captive for 1244 days, Ben Steele spent most of WWII as a POW and worked as slave labor in coal mines. Steele’s charcoal works created on the floors of a concrete hospital floor are now reproduced in Prisoner of War at the Brownsville Museum of Fine Arts.
