The FotoFest 2010 Biennial marks the thirteenth international celebration of photography and photo-related art. FotoFest presents this year’s theme as U.S. Contemporary Photography and has invited curators Aaron Schuman, Natasha Egan, Gilbert Vicario and a curatorial team from LACMA to participate. At the FotoFest headquarters Aaron Schman’s exhibition Whatever was Splendid: New American Photographs is on view with work by 11 artists. An array of exhibitions have already begun around the city and the official kick-off party for this monumental event takes place Friday, March 12. Curatorial forums, exhibitions at participating spaces and portfolio reviews are just a few of the many events that will take place until the end of April. Stay tuned for more events happening around the city. For more information and a full list of events check out their website.
