Voices Breaking Boundaries is a multidisciplinary arts organization and its mission is to cross borders, sustain dialogue, and incite social justice through art.

Job Description: Voices Breaking Boundaries is looking for a dynamic person to manage the organization as we work with our Board and our artistic community to tackle social justice through art. The Managing Director reports directly to the Artistic Director, working with the Marketing Manager and the Board to support and implement the organization’s strategic plan. Primarily responsible for financial and administrative management, the Managing Director also supports grant applications and reports.

Overall Qualities: Strong organizational skills and the ability to work alone, as well as with individuals from a broad array of class, ethnic, sexual orientation, gender identity, and other backgrounds, is imperative. The ideal candidate is passionate about his/her work, has a strong work ethic, and the capacity to meet and advance VBB’s priorities.

Primary Responsibilities:

 Financial Management: Manage overall organizational financial health by creating and managing budgets and grant funds; prepare monthly reports and cash flow updates; oversee payroll and taxes.
 Development: Assist with organizational development efforts through grant-writing and fundraising, including VBB’s annual fundraiser; work with Artistic Director and Board to identify new funding opportunities.
 Administration: Manage infrastructure by overseeing all administrative organizational deadlines; assist as needed with VBB productions; manage database; coordinate non-artistic personnel.
 Marketing: Oversee organizational marketing by working with Artistic Director and Marketing Manager to plan and implement marketing strategy.

Qualifications:

 Knowledge of and experience working with Macintosh computers and use of applications such as MS Word, Excel and Quickbooks; knowledge of Adobe programs is a plus.
 Possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to work in a team but also function well under minimal supervision.
 Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, and have the capacity to handle multiple tasks.
 Must be willing to work some weeknights and weekends.
 A demonstrated commitment to social justice and international issues is preferred.
 Knowledge and experience of non-profits is preferred.

Salary: $30,000 -- $35,000.
