Communications Internship


AMOA-Arthouse internships are ideal for expanding one’s understanding of the functions of contemporary art spaces and non-profit organizations, as well as a great way to become an active part of the visual arts community in Austin.

The communications intern perform such tasks as: creating and updating media lists, coordinating research projects, tracking and clipping news coverage, writing and editing press materials, distributing news releases, assembling media kits and various administrative duties. Other opportunities for involvement could include assisting with advertising and marketing collateral production schedules. The internship is located at The Jones Center. This internship requires a writing sample of no more than 3 pages in length.

• Candidates must have familiarity with all social media platforms, including Facebook, Vimeo and Twitter, among others.
• Ideal candidates will have had several public relations classes, possess strong writing skills, and be familiar with the Associated Press (AP) writing style.
• Preference will be given to Junior or Senior-level individuals

Internships are organized into fall, spring and summer sessions at both of our locations.
