Open Call for Redefinition: AAE (9th Annual Installment)
Open Call for Redefinition: An Artistic Experience 2012. We are currently accepting submissions for the 9th installment of Redefinition: An Artistic Experience, which will be held December 30th, 2012. Since it's conception and premiere installment Redefinition: AAE has continually developed as a major artistic forum highlighting the collective strengths and style of a revitalized Houston, Texas. This program and exhibition seeks to take a dynamic approach in presenting today's generation of multi-cultural artist in a night of creative enrichment. This year's art exhibition theme is "Unheard Voices". Artists submitting work are invited to create one of a kind work that they feel appeals to this years theme, or they are invited to simply submit already existing work that they feel connects to the theme.
All artists living in the Houston area are encouraged to submit work to be considered, but any artist age 18 and over living within the United States is eligible. Artists are encouraged to send work that may relate to this years theme but are not limited to it. Any two-dimensional or three-dimensional medium is eligible for consideration including sculpture, painting, photography, graphic art, mixed media, design and small installations. To submit work for consideration, either send a CD copy of the work that you would like to submit or simply send an e-mail with compressed images of the work for consideration. Mail CD submissions to 5219 Heatherbloom Dr, Houston TX 77045 attention: Redefinition Art Staff. All work submitted on CD should be JPG formatted and ready for review. Images of work should represent the actual colors and overall aesthetic of the work. Compressed images sent by e-mail should be directed to redefexperience@gmail.com. Artists should also submit a copy of their artist statement and bio along with the images of their work. Any material sent for consideration will not be returned to the artist. Please be sure to include all contact information with your submissions. The deadline for submissions is November 30th 2012.
The work selected for the show will be exhibited on the evening of December 30th 2012 at Houston's historic Ensemble Theater. Artists selected to participate in this years exhibition will receive a complimentary package for the show. Artists selected to participate in the show will be instructed by e-mail on drop off and pickup dates and how work should be physically delivered and prepared for the show.
