Please help with creating a series of art!
Greetings! I hope this email finds you well and enjoying life.
As you probably know, I am one busy girl. One of the many hats I wear is an artist hat. Being an artist and making art is not easy financially so I’m going to get right to the point here: I’m raising funds for a new series of art and in particular, a piece that will be at the Art Car Museum in the fall in a show opening mid-September called “God” -- click here to learn more about the show. I’m writing you to ask for your financial assistance and I’m looking for people that can give ANY AMOUNT of money to help me get the pieces made. No pressure here, I just wanted you to know about it in case you could help out. You can donate to this cause either by check or credit card through the PayPal button on my site (click here for more information) and all donors will be acknowledged by first name on the final piece in the series, called “Service,” since service is so important to the completion of this project.
It’s part of a project that is near and dear to my heart: a series I’m creating called “A Design for Living” that was inspired by the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. The piece pictured here is called “Honesty” and was inspired by the first step of A.A. The piece I am currently working on was inspired by the eleventh step, entitled “Spirituality.” “Spirituality” will be on a 12”x12” piece of wood painted red that will have the words “Spiritus contra Spiritum” (“Spirit vs. Spirits”) in gold and backed by purple neon. The quote is from a letterfamed Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung wrote to A.A. co-founder Bill Wilson when Bill queried Dr. Jung about what it would take to cure an alcoholic – spirituality conquers spirits/alcohol.
