LBDD Development Director

POSITION:
Reporting to - in partnership with - the Executive Director and Marketing Director, the Development Director will spearhead development efforts as LBDD continues to grow. A new position in the organization, the Development Director will have the opportunity to build the development function, and direct strategy for philanthropy, build relationships for long-term philanthropic support, and manage all fundraising elements for LBDD.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Development Director Job Purpose: Builds market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships.
Develop and execute LBDD’s annual fundraising plan.
Identify, research, solicit and secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations to ensure annual fundraising goals are met.
Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors
Creating and executing a strategy for a large sustained base of annual individual donors
Provide leadership and training to Board and volunteers to develop and implement LBDD’s fund development plan.
Overseeing organization of special events
Develop and track proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising.
Perform all administrative duties related to fund development.
Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

BA (required), MA (a plus)
5-plus years experience in development
