DiverseWorks seeks Part-Time Development/Administrative Assistant
DiverseWorks ArtSpace seeks a part-time Development/Administrative Assistant. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating the membership program, donor communications and front desk reception.
Qualified candidates will possess:

This is a non-exempt, part-time hourly position reporting to the Director of External Affairs. Position has the potential to become full-time. Required hours are Wednesdays 11 am – 8 pm and Thursdays – Saturdays 12 pm – 6 pm. Occasional additional hours are required for exhibition openings, special events, and fundraisers. Hourly salary commensurate with experience. Position begins on Wednesday, September 5.
Duties, Functions, Responsibilities:
DEVELOPMENT AND MEMBERSHIP
- processes all incoming memberships and monthly renewals, and ensures membership benefits are fulfilled
- plans and executes membership communications via email, mailings, and telephone
- recruits members
- manages donation record keeping and donor files (hard copy and digital)
- maintains donor database
- plans and executes exhibition opening receptions
- assists with procurement of in-kind donations for special events
- assists in preparing grant applications
- assists in researching grant opportunities
OFFICE/GALLERY ADMINISTRATION
- staffs front desk reception area, greeting all visitors and providing information about DiverseWorks’ mission, programs, and events
- answers telephone
- updates DiverseWorks’ general email list
- processes incoming credit card transactions (merchandise, exhibition cataglogs, onsite purchase of memberships, etc.)
- assists with general office work as required (mailings, filing, scanning, etc.)
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts, Art History, Marketing, or related field (a background and strong interest in visual, performing, and/or literary arts is preferred)
- Customer service experience
- Non-profit experience, preferably in development or membership
- Experience in an office setting
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Photoshop; experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus
- Database experience
- Familiarity with both MAC and PC platforms
- Ability to participate in modest event-related labor
