Glassell Junior School at MFAH Announces Fall Classes
Students may enroll through September 19, 2012

What The Glassell Junior School at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, invites students to create, explore and have fun. Classes and short-term workshops for children ages 4 to 18 are offered year-round. During the fall semester, classes are available on Saturdays and Sundays as well as weekday afternoons.

Junior School courses cover a variety of topics, from drawing, painting, ceramics and sculpture to cartooning, architecture, fashion design, digital art and more. The Junior School also offers an Explorer Program for ages 3 and 4 during the fall and spring semesters. These adult/child classes are designed to introduce young students to art and are perfect for a child’s first exposure to a classroom or group-learning environment. Sunday afternoon workshop sessions include “Animals and Art,” “Chocolate Art” and the popular “Holiday” workshop.

When Enrollment is open through Wednesday, September 19. The fall semester begins September 5. Short-term weekend workshops are offered in October and November. Where The Glassell Junior School, 5100 Montrose Boulevard. Housed in a wing of the MFAH Central Administration Building, the Junior School has a covered drop-off door at the corner of Bartlett Street and Bayard Lane (entrance on Berthea Street).

Background The Junior School of the Glassell School of Art is devoted to nurturing creativity and dedicated to fostering an appreciation of the arts and awareness of the world. Classes are designed to accommodate children of all skill levels and interests.
