CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Registration is now open for the Art Center’s 2012 summer fine art camp running for six weeks, starting June 5th through July 12th. Summer Art Camp will teach children ages 7 to 15 years art techniques that range from Origami, Chinese Calligraphy, Medieval Armor, creating their own Comic Books, Doll Making, Tie-Dye, to creations using Air-Dry Clay! Activities will change weekly and be taught by experienced art instructors. Week 1: Asian Culture: taught by Dr. Kim Roberson
Week 2: Medieval Camp: taught by Tristan Schober
Week 3: Comic Book Camp: taught by Laura Tosto
Week 4: Doll Making Camp: taught by Rachel Payne
Week 5: Groovy 60’s Art Camp: taught by Diana Carter
Week 6: Mythical Creatures: taught by Jennifer McClaren

About the Art Center of Corpus Christi, promoting arts and culture on the Coastal Bend for 40 years: The Art Center of Corpus Christi (www.artcentercc.org, 361-884-6406) was founded as a community art center and 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization in 1972. “The Center” provides an environment for creative expression with educational programs and exhibition of the arts. Its facilities include ten art organizations, five gallery spaces, and studio space for art classes. The Art Center is located at 100 Shoreline Boulevard on Corpus Christi’s historic bay front. Its facilities are available for weddings, receptions, and special events. The Art Center has free admission and is open to the public Tuesday through Sunday, 10 AM to 4 PM.
