To commemorate the 10th anniversary of its radio station, KRTU 91.7 FM, Trinity University has partnered with more than 20 local arts and cultural organizations to stage monthly jazz performances from October 2011 through October 2012. You can view KRTU's full Year of Jazz calendar here.
To do our part to celebrate a fellow San Antonio institution during the Year of Jazz, Artpace will feature The Kris Kimura Quintet live in concert on Sunday, June 3. Devoted to The Great American Songbook, the Austin-based group sets a new standard for traditional jazz.
Year of Jazz events are free to members of any of the participating organizations. Just show proof of membership at the door. The Artpace concert is free for members and kids age 12 and under. $10 for non-members--or you can buy a FRESH ART FIRST membership and get in free with a guest! (Memberships begin at $25 and can be purchased online or by calling Artpace at 212.4900.)
