Fresh Arts seeking Manager of Marketing & Member Services
Brief job summary: Fresh Arts is seeking to hire a Manager of Marketing & Member Services. The Manager of Marketing & Member Services will work closely with Fresh Arts’ Executive Director and Program Director to manage marketing initiatives (particularly advertising), as well as member services and benefits. The Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing the organization’s marketing strategies, communications, and limited public relations, as well as serve as an ambassador to the organization’s membership.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Marketing, PR & Media Partnerships
· Raises visibility of the organization and its membership through development and implementation of sustainable, well-timed marketing plan/campaign geared to public and specific constituencies
· Functions as liaison in all advertising relationships and responsible for meeting all related deadlines
· Responsible for all organizational communication:
o Coordinates creation/design of promotional collateral, including Press Kits
o Coordinates creation/design of member ads
o Drafts weekly newsletters and mass mailings
o Drafts of printed materials (letters or flyers) when necessary
o Manages social media channels
· Promotes organization and membership to local and national press, as well as within community forums
· Cultivates relationship with Greater Houston Convention & Visitors Bureau
· Monitors nationwide trends and best practices in arts marketing with focus on information/resource-sharing
Artist & Nonprofit Membership Program
· Manages membership program administration and records for artists & nonprofits
· Cultivates new collaborative partners and ensures partner retention
· Handles group marketing and coordinates PR initiatives to heighten awareness of members
· Oversees fulfillment of, as well as development of new member benefits and services
· Functions as advocate for membership, providing specialized customer service
· Works with ED to invoice members & collect dues in timely manner
· Engages in specialized marketing consultation with members
· Schedules, sets agenda for and runs member regular meetings
Website Management
· Responsible for overseeing contract web management
· Responsible for monitoring and updating website to keep data current
· Responsible for optimizing effectiveness of website and online resources
Accountability & Relationships: Reports to the Executive Director
Qualifications:
· Background and experience in arts marketing
· Bachelor’s degree (ideally) in communications, journalism, marketing or related field
· Personal interest in the mission, principles and values of Fresh Arts
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Strong proficiency in web marketing (SEO, SEM, analytics)
· Strong proficiency in social media marketing
· Basic understanding web technology & programming (Drupal)
· Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
· Ability to foster environment of collaboration, creativity and professional growth
· Professional, positive, and self-motivated approach
· Ability to be team player, as well as to work on own initiative
Working Conditions:
· Full-time
· Starting salary commensurate with experience
· Basic benefits
· Hours: 10m – 6pm (flex hours) with some weekend and evening work required
· 2 weeks vacation
