Women & Their Work is an arts organization located in Austin that serves as a catalyst for contemporary art created by women living and working in Texas and beyond. Interns play an essential role in making our gallery a vibrant space for all. We have several internship opportunities available this fall including Education & Interpretation, Gallery Assistant, Archive, and Photo, Video & Media internships. Internships are unpaid, 10 hours per week. Some nights and weekends are required during gallery events and exhibition installations.

Education & Interpretation
Help develop, implementation, and evaluation of interpretive materials of exhibitions which may include developing gallery guides, in-gallery displays and interactive materials for a variety of audiences.
Assist with the planning and implementation of education programs in the galleries.
Assist with researching and developing educational materials and curriculum for tours
Lead student tours and assist with professional development program for teachers.
Support on and off-site activity and perform administrative work related to select education & public programs
Skills needed:
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to multitask
Ability to work individually and as a team

Gallery Assistant
Assist the Gallery Director and exhibiting artists with installations and de-installations, lighting, and gallery preparation
Set up for receptions and performances
May handle routine correspondence with artists and community
Candidate must be handy with tools, able to move bulky objects, open to learning new things
Skills needed:
Excellent oral communication skills
Team player

Assist with re-organizing organizational archive
Create archival best-practices guide for incoming materials
Digitize analog media
Create finding aids for archival materials
Highlight interesting archival materials on our website and through other outlets
Skills needed:
Strong attention to detail
Strong organizational skills

Photo, Video and Media
Document all current projects/ programs through photography and video
Manage media archives
Create promotional videos
Update social media
Make website updates
Light design work including creation of brochures, flyers
Support on and off-site activity and perform administrative work related to public programs
Skills needed:
Strong attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and editing software
Experienced in documenting through photos and video
