The FotoFest 2012 Biennial is coming to HCC Central Art with an exhibit, Russian and Soviet Winners of World Press Photo 1956-1991, showcasing 42 photojournalists, winners of the prestigious international World Press Photo competition. These images date from the critical period that began with the rise of Nikita Khrushchev and Russia's launch of the first manned spaceflight and ended with the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991. Despite these landmark events, many of the press photos made were never seen in the West.
The Gallery is located in HCC Central's Fine Art Center, 3517 Austin, Houston, TX, 77004 . Gallery hours are 9:00AM to 9:00PM Monday through Thursday and 9:00AM to 3:00PM Friday and Saturday. For information, call 713-718-6600.
