Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the University of Texas at Austin's College of Fine Arts Career Services office with special attention to campus and community outreach.
Work independently with minimal supervision to assist in daily operations of Fine Arts Career Services. Develop and maintain back-of-house administrative procedures pertaining to integrated advising bars, job boards, listservs, databases, social media and digital and print resources. Advise fine arts students, including undergraduate students, graduate students and alumni of COFA, on career-related queries, including: defining career goals; developing career plans; internship assistance; resume and cover letter critiques; conducting mock interviews and connecting student's with on and off campus resources. Assist in designing, coordinating and implementing in-house professional development opportunities for students in the form of workshops, services, events and programs; enrich all offerings by crafting relevant promotional and educational content. Assist Director of Professional Programs in managing Fine Arts Career Services scholarships to support COFA students in internships, professional development travel opportunities and startup endeavors; oversee application process. Oversee application process and track internship placement Coordinate marketing efforts for Fine Arts Career Services including weekly e-newsletter, social media accounts and promotional material design. Foster relationships with university stakeholders on behalf of Fine Arts Career Services, including local and national arts organizations, businesses, nonprofits and on-campus partners. Maximize external resources available to students by tracking, facilitating and innovating off-campus initiatives, internship opportunities, industry connections and prospective employment. Assist with the hiring, training and oversight of FACS student intern and other support staff positions as needed. Other related functions as assigned.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.
Bachelor's degree. Familiarity with visual and performing arts. Excellent interpersonal skills as well as demonstrated ability to interact with students, faculty, and the public. Prior experience working with students. Experience with Microsoft applications, online resources, and creating and maintaining spreadsheets in Excel. Experience in creating and maintaining documents for publication. Proficient in InDesign and Photoshop or other desktop publishing software. Ability to work collaboratively in a team. Bachelor's degree or higher in the visual or performing arts. Professional experience in the arts. 1-2 years of experience advising students on career issues. Experience critiquing resumes and cover letters. Proven ability to handle concurrent projects, coordinate events, deal effectively with interruptions, and use judgment. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional demeanor and appearance.
