University of Houston-Clear Lake Art Gallery Call for Entry:
15th Houston Area Community College Student Exhibition

1. Schedule

SUBMISSIONS DUE: Friday, October 13, 2017
Notifications: by Tuesday, October 17, 2017
Drop-Off of Accepted Works: Monday, Oct. 23, 2 - 7 p.m., or by appointment through Oct. 27
Pick-Up of Exhibited Works: Monday, Dec. 18, 2 - 7 p.m., or by appointment through Dec. 21

2. Eligibility

Submissions are open to students currently enrolled in at least one studio art class at a Houston-area community college. All forms of media will be considered, but artworks must be installation-ready, safe for visitors, and less than 10 feet tall.

3. How to Apply

Up to three original works may be submitted. To apply, email your resume/curriculum vitae (PDF or Word document) and high-resolution images with corresponding label captions to Jeff Bowen at These items should be attached, not embedded into the body of the email. On your resume, include your contact information with home address, and list the Houston-area community college you attend. Submissions via Dropbox or other cloud storage services are encouraged.

More than one image, such as detail views, are allowed per submitted work. Pictures should be at least 1,000 pixels on the shortest side, but the total file size of all the images is not to exceed 10MB in email attachments. For submissions over that size, please send a Dropbox link to a folder with your images. The UHCL Art Gallery has the right to reject any submission that it cannot easily view.

There is no entry fee.

4. Juror

This exhibition is juried by Jeffrey Bowen, director of the UHCL Art Gallery. He will award cash prizes for first-, second-, and third‐place.

5. Security

The UHCL Art Gallery is unstaffed, but the art gallery has a security camera and is locked after daily operation. However, you will exhibit all work at your own risk and should carry appropriate insurance. The University of Houston-Clear Lake will not be held responsible for damage, theft, or loss of your work or that of any other artist.
