Silicon Mold, Low Temperature (Pewter) Metal Castings:
Monday, January 16th thru February 20th ,
6:30 to 9:30pm
For do-it-at-home, inexpensive reproductions, learn to use High Temperature Silicon to cast (non-lead) Pewter (a hard White Metal) and Gypsum in your own studio workshop. In this intensely interesting class each participant will create a wax bas relief or small scale sculpture from wax. Then pour a High Temperature Silicon making a mold for the piece. Then cast three (3) reproductions in Hydrocal 105 and one (1) non-leaded Pewter. All the instruction, tools, materials and supplies including High Temperature Silicon (good for 20 years) Hydrocal 105 for three (3) castings and one (1) Pewter (2.5pounds) is provided. Additional casting at the price of pewter.

Wednesday, January 18th thru February 22nd, 1:00 to 4:00pm
Learn 3-sculptural techniques in just 6-sessions. Work in sheet metal using aluminum; cut, fold, curve and twist it to create new exciting pieces. Then use clay and plaster to make a press mold and build a sculpture from the pieces you pressed. Next you'll create your own mobile in plastic and wire, suitable for both indoors and out. All the instruction, tools, hand-outs, clay, aluminum, plastic and firings are included.

Saturday, January 28th from 10am – 1pm
Learn the fundamentals of the ancient (but very modern) art of ceramic sculpting: slap, push, press and squeeze! In this very hands-on class, each student will learn the basics of clay-bodies, ceramic tools and kilns while sculpting the subject matter of their own choice. Working with water-based clay, using slabs and coils, each student will create at least one ceramic sculpture. Clay and all tools are provided. Firing is available for a small fee.
