To develop and execute a comprehensive and diversified marketing program that increases visibility, increases patronage and develops strategies to evaluate program results. Effectively communicates the mission, programs and initiatives of the museum to a broad range of constituencies.

Essential Functions
Develops brand awareness, facilitates innovative marketing and community partnerships, oversees the production of all collateral in support of museum exhibitions and programming, builds relationships with media to secure local and national coverage in multiple platforms including social media, electronic communications, out of home and print. Develop a multi-faceted and holistic approach to marketing efforts to build community alliances, brand awareness, social markets and media relationships to develop support of the museum, audience development, fundraising and membership initiatives and increase patronage. Responsible for budget, staffing and overall vision of the marketing and communications function including integrating all marketing, press and online communication strategies. Maximize opportunities in both traditional and new media to elevate the profile of the Blanton, its mission, collections, exhibitions and programs locally, nationally and internationally. Implements strategic communications and determines target markets from promotional materials through appropriate channels such as print materials, electronic communications, broadcast communications and social media. Serves as the museum's spokesperson and facilitates communications between press and other museum personnel in order to increase patronage, membership, donor base and visibility of the museum. Develop creative and collaborative marketing partnerships to enhance the museum's role in the community. Work with communications on copywriter duties and serve as the creative director for museum's marketing and promotional materials, including all brochures, signage and advertising in both print and online outlets. Manage staff for the marketing and communications department including graphic designer.

Required qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in marketing, business, liberal arts or communication related field. Six years of experience in strategic planning, marketing and implementation of integrated marketing plans. Three or more years of experience in managing a marketing and communications team including managing staff and budgets, establishing strategic direction and ensuring accomplishment of team goals. Candidate should be entrepreneurial with proven communication skills including interpersonal skills. Public relations experience. Must have a desire and ability to become knowledgeable in the art field. Familiarity with key electronic communication tools and common social media platforms. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
Eight to ten years of progressively responsible marketing and communications experience. Background in marketing program management with an art museum or related non-profit institution. Strong relationships with local and national media including online, print and radio. Proven experience in development and implementation of marketing plans with clearly articulated, measurable goals. Excellent written ad oral communication skills.
