Public Programs Intern


Dallas Contemporary has an opening for a Public Programs intern to assist in the design and development of programs and learning materials related to exhibitions. Candidates should be art or education major looking for programming experience in a nonprofit setting.

The Public Programs Internship is a collaborative, hands-on position that requires strong writing, research and communication skills, resourcefulness, and ability to multitask in a small nonprofit environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Knowledge of contemporary art and/or experience working in a museum setting is desirable.

Duties:
Develop content for learning materials based on upcoming exhibitions including: gallery guides, teacher resources and interactive learning components.

Assist with research and development of program concepts including: lecture series, artist interviews, curator talks and performances.

Work with students, teachers, artists, community centers & art professionals to develop partnerships and programs.

Develop strategies for future exhibition materials and resources.

Assist with administrative duties including answering phones, greeting visitors, and the unknowns.
