WATERCOLOR ART SOCIETY TO HOST MAJOR WORKSHOP LED BY INTERNATIONALLY FAMED ARTIST JUDI BETTS
International Exhibit Juror and Workshop – Judi Betts

Spring 2012 is around the corner with our International Exhibit and workshop! We are excited to have Judi Betts as our Juror and Instructor at our 1st major workshop of the new year.
WAS-H will be experimenting with the major workshop format. Our primary goal is offer our membership a 5 day workshop with a well known artist/instructor. Since some members have indicated interest in a 3 day workshop, we will also reserve 6 slots for those who wish the 3 day option. The options/dates/costs are as follows: 3 day option on March 12-14 for $300, 5 day option on March 12-16 for $450. Enrollment has already begun – a nonrefundable deposit of $100 and your completed workshop registration form will hold your place in class.
Judi Betts, of NWS and AWS acclaim, has attained an international reputation for her transparent watercolor paintings. In addition, she was awarded “Master of Watercolor” by the Transparent Watercolor Society of America and formally recognized by the Watercolor USA Honor Society. Her paintings have been exhibited in Nanjing, Shanghai, and Japan as well as throughout various American museums, universities, corporate, and private collections. As the juror of the 2012 International Exhibition, she brings a wealth of experience in judging national/regional/international competitions.
Judi’s workshop “Creative Composition” – will explore concepts, techniques, and expression in watercolor. The course is designed to be a fun experience while learning with this master of luminosity. Judi does not impose her way of working on others, but encourages the strengths of each individual as they pursue their own goals. There will be daily demonstrations, personalized and individual guidance, and review of individuals’ work. Each day Judi presents a challenge, often using it as an element of surprise…SOMETHING EXCITING!
