WATERCOLOR ART SOCIETY-HOUSTON ANNOUNCES 2012 35TH INTERNATIONAL EXHIBIT

The Watercolor Art Society - Houston (WAS-H) is embarking upon its 35th International Exhibition where each year more than 200 watercolor artists from around the world participate in this stellar event for watercolor artists. The range of expression has been remarkable, and the competitive exhibition has been acclaimed for its breadth and diversity in displaying the current work in water-based media created across the globe.
To encourage more artists to join in this critically acclaimed exhibition, WAS-H has strengthened the 2012 award program, increased cash awards to $6000. and added a new award, the Jack Bowen Award, to its list of awards of merit recognizing outstanding achievement.
The exhibition will be juried this year by an internationally renowned and highly respected juror and artist, Judi Betts, NWS, AWS . She is also widely recognized as an art instructor and author of two award winning books. Judi is the recipient of the Louisiana Governor\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s Award for Professional Artist, the state\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s most prestigious award. The Transparent Watercolor Society of America awarded her their \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Master of Watercolor\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" designation, and the Watercolor USA Honor Society has given Ms. Betts special recognition for her contributions to the medium of watercolor. Her paintings have been selected for invitational shows in Nanjing, China. Shanghai, Tokyo, Japan, as well as many European countries. Her name and fame is included in Who\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s Who in American Art.
