FotoFest Internships provide college students and recent graduates an opportunity to engage in hands-on professional training within a not-for-profit organization dedicated to photographic arts and education.


As the Literacy Through Photography (LTP) intern, the selected individual will assist LTP staff on a variety of administrative projects geared towards educational programming in K-12 Houston area schools and with FotoFun, the annual fundraiser for the LTP program. Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Assisting with K-12 programming (in-school & after-school)
• Community Engagement
• Database Entry and Management
• Design (Print and Web)
• Fundraising
• Equipment Maintenance
• Event Planning
• Marketing and Communications (Social Media, Print, and Web)
• Research and Analysis
• Program Evaluation
• Volunteer Management


Required Qualifications-
High School graduate. Currently enrolled in a 2-4 yr. college or recent graduate. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to organize, meet deadlines, and work as part of a team. An outgoing, creative personality is desired, including confidence in speaking with a wide variety of constituencies. (i.e. students, teachers, clients, funders, etc.). Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Adobe Creative Suite (Dreamweaver, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). Event management, including handling high-school aged/adult volunteers, a plus.

Preferred Qualifications-
Interest in education programming, integrating the arts in k-12 classrooms and or teaching art across the curriculum. Basic knowledge of photography (digital and/or traditional) and photographic principles. Working knowledge of social media marketing. Fluency in Spanish a plus.
