Cross Section 2014 is a display of the work of AIA Fort Worth chapter architects/architectural firms and students of Tarrant County. The guidelines are kept to a minimum in order to create a varied exhibit within a unified framework. This year the guidelines are aimed at creating a more “raw” display highlighting the “design process”. Therefore, photographs of finished buildings are not a part of the display board. Construction images might be incorporated in order to support the drawings. Photographs of models, computer images, diagrams, sketches, and context images are appropriate. Physical models are encouraged and there will be space for the display of models.
Work of the project shall be less than 3 years old. Drawings should be mounted on 30″x30″x1/2″ thick white gator board. Label the back of the panel with the Panel Title, Firm Name, Contact Person, Contact Phone, and Contact Email. Only one board per project (and/or model) is allowed. You may enter up to 3 boards.
While it may be useful to include some kind of explanatory text on the display board, firms are asked to avoid promotional statements of any kind. Text should be appropriately sized to the image. The use of firm names, contact information, or logo on the display board is prohibited.
A separate description board is required. The size is 6″ wide by 12″ long and mounted on 1/2″ white gator board. Please provide the following information: One final image of the project, Firm Name, Project Name, Location, Completion Date, Client (if any), and a 150 word maximum project description with Firm Logo at bottom of board. You will be provided a template to follow for this portion.
Registration can be made via email to email@example.com. Include Firm Name and Contact Information. Also include if you will be displaying a model. The fee for professional entries is $40 per board. Student entries are free of charge but will have their material subject to review before final entry. Direct any questions to Alesha at firstname.lastname@example.org.
