Request For Acquisition
Houston Arts Alliance Civic Art + City of Houston General Services Division

Summary
2D works and/or photos reflecting the contemporary character of the City of Houston are being sought for placement in the Mayor’s Diplomatic Reception Area.

Eligibility
This commission is open to local, professional artists residing within the City of Houston.

Budget
Works will be accessed at market value with a $5,000 cap on each piece.

Selection Process
Artists will submit qualifications as instructed below. An artist selection panel will review submissions and recommend artworks for purchase. Artists whose works are chosen will be contacted to deliver their artworks, to Houston Arts Alliance, on a date to be determined in July 2014. Works must be framed and delivered ready to hang unless otherwise agreed upon.

Submission Instructions
To be considered please provide the following:
• Letter of interest and description of no more than three artworks (up to 600 words in a Microsoft Word document);
• A short bio;
• Images of the 3 works being submitted for possible purchasing (in PowerPoint slides). Include image identification information within the slides (title, dimension, date, medium and value); and
• Three professional references with current contact information.
