Memory Jugs were made in many cultures, but in Victorian times, when amplified mourning traditions took root, they became a folk art phenomenon. Students will be provided "borrowed memories" as well as a mason jar, plaster putty, paint and trinkets and pottery shards for their memory jar. You are encouraged to bring your own charms. keys, shells and memories to cover your jar. DON'T MISS THIS STRANGE AND BEAUTIFUL CLASS!!!

Direct Film Making Animation
Two Day Workshop, June 21-22
Instructor: Steve Crossman from Mono No Aware
In this 2 day workshop students will learn to manipulate the surface of 16mm film using a variety of direct film-making techniques; painting, scratching, collage, and masking in order to create an experimental animation. This workshop is offered in collaboration with the Oak Cliff Film Festival.

Learn more about the sensitive relationship between watercolor, the brush, and paper. Explore essential techniques like creating variegated washes and full-bodied strokes to define complex shapes and objects from reality.
July 26, 1-4pm
Explore the use of watercolor and mixed media techniques to render and depict the human form working primarily from photographs.
