Entry Categories- The Summerview 5 Exhibition will feature 2 categories of artwork.
• Grid Art: 2-D work 40”high x 30”wide or smaller
• 3-D Art: Artists must provide pedestals/tables or display cases
Artists and artwork must meet the following requirements:
Members entering “Grid Art” entries of no larger than 40”high x 30”wide including frame (smaller sizes are acceptable). All art work must be wired to hang securely. ◊ Framed paper works and photographs larger than 24 inches in any direction must have Plexiglas. ◊ 2-D entries may be in any of the following media: oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor; drawings (pencil, charcoal, ink); photography, digital art, mixed media, collage or fiber art. ◊ Member 3-D sculpture artists may enter up to four pieces of metal, ceramic, wood and/or soft sculpture. Artists must provide their own display pedestals, tables or enclosed cases. Show Chair may solicit additional 2-D & 3-D work from artists to promote a full exhibit.
Artwork must meet all eligibility requirements: Art that may reflect negatively on the professionalism of Artists Alive and Well, Inc. will not be included in the show. E.g., works with political, violent, religious, frivolous, sexual themes or content will be excluded. Show Chairs have the right to reject objectionable work. If you are unsure about whether your work is eligible or appropriate for this exhibit, e-mail Show Chair Roy Salazar prior to June 12, 2012 BEFORE submitting your artwork by midnight of that date.

Grid Art” entries and “3-D ArtGrid Art” entries and “3-D Art” entries. Also, entry forms (including the Indemnity Agreement form) for the “Easel Art”.
E-mail completed Artist Agreement form and Jpegs for 2-D “Grid Art” and “3-D Art”.
E-mail PC compatible Jpeg digital images of up to 300dpi and 1 megabyte(MB)(1MB=1,000KB) or less in size of up to 4 entries for the 40”H x 30”W or smaller 2-D “Grid Art” entries OR up to 4 entries for 3-D works. File should include:ArtistLastName_FirstName_EntryNumber(1,2,3,4)_Title_Height(inches) xWidth(inches) or HeightxWeightxDepth
(Example: Picasso_Pablo_1_Harlequin_12x16 or 12x16x8). E-mail images and Artist Agreement to
email@example.com . 3-D pieces may include two images showing different views. Please put “Summerview 3 Exhibition Entry” in the e-mail subject line.
No repeated jpeg’s on the accepted “Easel Art” entries are required.
All 2-D “Grid Art” and “3-D Art” entries will be accepted (space permitting) if they meet show criteria.
June 12 Deadline for mailing Artists Agreement entry forms pages 3, 4, 5, including Indemnity Agreement page 6 (signed) and entry fees for the Easel Art, Grid Art and 3-D Art. Also, mail the membership form and dues if you have not yet joined.

July 25 Grids delivered by 6:00 PM. Set up team arrives at 9th Floor Phoenix Tower by 6:00 PM.
July 26 Art Check-In of ALL art entries 9th Floor Phoenix Tower 9:30 AM – 10:30 PM. Hang show
10:00 AM-12:00 PM.
July 28 Opening Reception; 4:00 PM-6:00 PM. 9th Floor Phoenix Tower.
August _ Phoenix Tower will sponsor “Ice Cream Social” 9th Floor, date and time to be announced by e-mail.
August 15 Closing Reception 4:00 PM-6:00 PM. Remove artwork beginning 6:00PM.
August 16 Takedown of grids 10:00 AM until its completion. Return grids to storage.
AAW “Summerview 5 Exhibition” Artwork at Phoenix Tower
All artwork must be original, for sale, and ready and safe to hang or install. “Ready to hang” requires:
1. All work must be dry, with a completed Artwork Information Form (p.6, 7or 8) attached to the back and
front of entry.
2. Wire must be attached to “D” ring hangers mounted on back of frame or stretcher, approximately 1/4
down from top, with no wire visible from front. (top of wire no closer than two inches below top of
3. Unframed work must be gallery-wrapped, with painted sides. No visible staples allowed. Frames, if
used, must be good saleable condition.
4. Framed paper works and photographs larger than 24 inches in any direction must have Plexiglas.
5. 2-D artwork should hang flat against the wall; artwork that protrudes will not be shown. (Fiber Art not meeting
these criteria may be accepted by Show Chair.)
6. 3-D artwork must be installed on the pedestals, tables, or cases provided by the artist. (Art must stand in
a stable, safe manner).
