Put a touch of Old World elegance and class into your greeting cards and correspondence. Learn the basic beginning skills of using an oblique pen holder and pointed pens to create Spencerian script, a vintage form of Ornamental Penmanship. Named after Platt Rodgers Spencer (1800-1864), this classic American style ushered in the Golden Age of Ornamental Penmanship (1850-1925).
This style is known for its elaborate flourished Capitols and a simple flowing lower case lettering. Handouts will illustrate various styles from master penman of the past. An exemplar will be provided to take home along with pen, ink and practice pads. Please bring a lunch.
