The Linda Pace Foundation is committed to the charitable vision of its founder. Guided by the donor’s conviction that contemporary art is essential to a dynamic society, the Linda Pace Foundation fosters the creation, presentation, and understanding of innovative expression through contemporary art. Grants support the operation of Artpace, CHRISpark, the public exhibition of Pace's contemporary art collection, and the work of contemporary artists.

In April 2014, the Foundation will open its first public exhibition space, where they will present two exhibitions of contemporary art per year, with correlating public programs. The Gallery Manager will be responsible for running the day-to-day operations of this new public exhibition space. S/he will greet and communicate with visitors, guard the artworks, and provide guests with information about the exhibitions. The Gallery Manager will also assist the Head of Collections with projects such as scanning archives and maintaining an online database. Another responsibilities of this position include maintaining the Foundation’s social media profiles, and other duties as needed.

Qualified candidates will possess:

• Superior communication skills

• A warm and friendly demeanor

• Experience working with databases and general office applications

• Willingness and ability to work special events outside of normal work hours

• Impeccable attention to detail

Hours 20 hours per week

Hourly salary based on experience

Required hours Wednesday – Saturday 11:45AM – 5:15PM

Duties, Functions, Responsibilities:

• Staff front desk reception area, greeting all visitors and providing information about Linda Pace Foundation’s mission, programs, exhibitions, and events

• Maintain Foundation’s attendance records

• Answers the telephone

• Maintains the Foundation’s general email list

• Assist with general office work as required (mailings, filing, scanning, etc.)

• Plan and execute exhibition opening receptions

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bachelors’ Degree in Liberal Arts, Art History, Marketing, Communications, or related field (a background and strong interest in visual, performing and/or literary arts is preferred)

• Customer service experience

• Non-profit experience preferred

• Experience in an office setting

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines

• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Photoshop; experience with Adobe Creative

Suite a plus

• Familiarity with both Mac and PC platforms

• Ability to participate in modest event-related labor
