“Art for Teens & Pre-teens”
Illustration Drawing for Youth ages 10-16
This workshop will boost your child's self esteem and encourage them to express through art.
Drawing, often referred to as illustration, is a form of visual expression and is one of the major forms within the visual arts. Drawing shares some of the materials, techniques, and qualities of painting, but there are important differences. Most notably, painting typically focuses on the application of pigments to a prepared surface using a brush or other supplies, while drawing involves the marking of lines on paper. Drawing can often be an exploratory experience, heavily influenced by observation and composition. Drawing and illustration are commonly included in the process of painting—Often, painting is used as a means to finish a piece of art once the drawing has been completed.
Probably the most common tools used for drawing and illustration are pencils, pens, and brushes. It's possible, though, to use all sorts of materials to draw, each with its own unique artistic qualities. Hinovations Art Gallery staff will instruct the young scholars to a variety of tools essential to drawing and illustration and in turn complete a set of large scale drawings.
