Accepting Submissions: Themed Issue for Online Zine/Online Gallery
Disembodied Bestiary: Animals and Abstraction.
In this forthcoming issue (probably two weeks from now--depending on how much submissions I acquire), I would like to explore the different ways in which artists/writers/musicians/etc. interpret the combined theme of animals and abstraction in their works. By "animals," I would like to broaden the definition to include imaginary and mythological creatures, and how abstraction comes to play a role in our understanding of these entities. I would like to see a various spectrum of works: from a poem about one's pet dog, to a painting that depicts the Eight-Forked Serpent of Japanese mythology, to a song that evokes the mating calls of the Black-Capped Chickadee, etc.
Send submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org, subject line: Submissions for Disembodied Bestiary.
