Houston Arts Partners Conference - Call for Proposals
The Houston Arts Partners conference, an annual event since 2011, attracts hundreds of educators and administrators. This year's theme is "Arts Work," focusing on the benefits the arts bestow on individuals, classrooms, communities, and the economy! The conferences combine inspiring arguments for the power of the arts from national arts-in-education leaders with dynamic, innovative, interactive, evidence-based, and fun presentations on how the fine arts can supply tools to teachers of core foundation subjects. The conference and the Houston Arts Partners mission have galvanized the Houston arts education community and campus educators. The 2013 Houston Arts Partners Conference will be held Sept. 13 and 14, 2013, in downtown Houston, Texas.
Houston Arts Partner organizations are invited to submit up to three proposals for conference presentations based on successful arts integration partnerships. If your organization is not affiliated with Houston Arts Partners, you still have an opportunity to present in partnership with an Arts Partners group!
This year's co-chairs are Shelly Power, Academy Director of the Houston Ballet's Ben Stevenson Academy and leader of the education department, and Bob Bryant, Katy ISD's Executive Director of Fine Arts. They are supported by an executive committee including Dean Muths, Director of Visual and Performing Arts for Clear Creek ISD, Pat Paris, Fine Arts Coordinator for Conroe ISD, Rozie Curtis, Education Manager at Theatre Under the Stars, and Jennifer Beradino, Kinder Foundation Education Center Manager at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
