Intermediate Glassblowing Assistant/Gaffer
Wimberley Glassworks is currently seeking a qualified Intermediate Glassblowing Assistant/Gaffer to fill a full time position within the studio. Qualified applicants must have previous glassblowing and cold working experience. A strong academic background in glassblowing from an accredited two or four year program is preferred but not mandatory. The assistant will be responsible for supporting and facilitating day to day jobs and production schedules, glass blowing, monitoring equipment, studio maintenance, assist with charging furnace and furnace building. Duties will also include cold working, assisting other glass blowers and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Applicants will be interacting with customers and should feel comfortable talking in front of large groups of people. Short term employment is available immediately for 90 day trial with long term potential as production manager. Pay is based upon skill level and experience. Position comes with paid time off, health insurance, blow time, exhibition space in our gallery where creative thinking is encouraged.
