Development Internship


AMOA-Arthouse internships are ideal for expanding one’s understanding of the functions of contemporary art spaces and non-profit organizations, as well as a great way to become an active part of the visual arts community in Austin.

The development intern at AMOA-Arthouse provides needed assistance with the implementation of key development strategies and programs, supporting existing staff in the maintenance and growth of AMOA-Arthouse’s membership, earned income opportunities, and community outreach programs. This position offers unique insight into the overall operations of nonprofit membership and development operations. This internship is located at The Jones Center.

Responsibilities include maintaining current membership information for visitors as well as facilitating member communication, member renewal mailings and new member solicitation efforts. The development intern will also be involved in the execution of AMOA-Arthouse exhibition openings and special events, and will work closely with AMOA-Arthouse staff in all aspects of their work. Some evenings if available for exhibition openings and special events

Prospective interns should meet the following qualifications:
• Strong organizational and communication skills with an attention to detail
• Fluency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Basic understanding of the web, use of web services and low level web technologies
• Interest in/knowledge of contemporary art a plus
• Minor experience with the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier, etc.) a plus
