Randy Bacon: The Colrs of West Texas at William Reaves Fine Art

William Reaves Fine Art is proud to present an exhibition featuring over 25 works on canvas by contemporary Texas regionalist Randy Bacon. Bacon is a celebrated artist in Texas, presenting color-saturated, rural scenes of West Texas in a panoramic format, engaging the viewer’s experience of the West Texas landscape.

Albany artist Randy Bacon’s skillful, realist compositions of familiar scenes from rural West Texas reveal the extraordinary in the ordinary. Bacon is inspired by the light and color of his home state as well as the timelessness of its rural images, forgotten and overlooked places, which he captures on film while on long drives through the region. Bacon’s canvases remind the viewer that often what is experienced on the journey is more intriguing than the destination.

After 20 years in the advertising business and having been the President of an advertising firm he co-founded in Fort Worth, Randy Bacon left the corporate world to pursue his art. Texas Christian University granted him a full scholarship in their Master of Fine Arts program to study painting under Jim Woodson. Since 2004, Bacon has exhibited widely across Texas including exhibitions at The Panhandle Plains Historical Museum, The Grace Museum, The Old Jail Art Center, and The National Ranching Heritage Center.
