Description The Executive Director(ED)is responsible for overseeing the day-­‐to-­‐day operations of San Anto Cultural Arts (SACA)in accordance with mission statement, strategic plan,goals,and Board direction.

The ED is responsible for the implementation of all SACA programs as well as the Board-­‐approved development plan to raise funds that support the organization’s operations and programs.

The ED will provide guidance, direction, and leadership as supervisor to all staff, volunteers, and participants.

Supervision The ED will report to the Board of Directors.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee day-­‐to-­‐day operations.

• Provide guidance, leadership, and direction to staff,volunteers,and participants.

• Effectively delegate authority.

• Supervise the coordinators of the El Placazo community newspaper,the Mentor Program, the Community Mural/Public Art Program,andall other SACA programs.

• Identify and facilitate training and appropriate support to SACA personnel to help them to better accomplish their duties and responsibilities.

• Articulate SACA’s mission and vision by public speaking at events, to staff, to funders, and to the community

of participants and volunteers.

• Project a positive image of SACA to funders, artists, members, and the public at large.

• Track and expand audiences for events.

• Become the primary voice of SACA in communicating the

organization’s mission, goals, and accomplishments.

• Guided by the Board-­‐approved development plan, research sources of funding and identify and

develop

relationships

with

funders

that

will

support

SACA’s

mission

to

establish

a

balance

of

fiscal

stability

and

growth.

• Write,

review,

and

submit

grant

proposals.

• Organize

financial

records,

reports,

and

preparation

of

budgets.

• Oversee

annual

fundraiser

(i.e.

Huevos

Rancheros

Gala

&

Silent

Art

Auction)

and

any

other

fundraisers

that

may

be

scheduled

throughout

the

year.

• Develop

and

expand

earned-­‐income

mechanisms

(e.g.

mural

tours,

merchandise)

that

create

a

consistent

revenue

stream.

• Manage

donor

and

membership

database.

• Recruit

and

manage

volunteers.

• Work

effectively

with

the

Board

of

Directors

to

implement

policies

and

procedures.

• Establish

collaborative

relationships

with

partnering

community

organizations

to

develop

and

implement

activities

and

projects

of

mutual

interest.

• Cultivate

relationships

with

the

owners,

personnel,

and

representatives

of

all

San

Antonio

media

outlets

to

strategically

publicize

and

promote

programming

and

events.

• Other

duties

as

appropriate.

Qualifications

• Ability

to

use

a

personal

computer

and

other

office

equipment.

• Knowledge

and

skill

with

Microsoft

applications,

Word,

Excel,

Access,

PowerPoint,

and

Publisher.

• Familiarity

with

Internet-­‐based

research

methods

and

tools.

• Proficiency

in

financial

spreadsheets

and

accounting.

• High-­‐level

communication

skills,

oral

and

written,

in

English.

• Bilingual

(English

and

Spanish),

written

and

spoken

fluency

preferred

but

not

required.

• Ability

to

work

well

with

others,

multi-­‐task,

and

problem-­‐solve.

• Organized

and

self-­‐motivated.

• Ability to articulate a compelling creative vision with respect to arts and cultural programming.

• Motivated to work in a multi-­‐cultural environment.

• Able to express the value of being involved, loving, supporting, and leading a grassroots cultural arts organization.

• Must value the history, culture, and significance that SACA expresses for the community in which it is embedded and which it serves.

Training/Experience

• Degree of 5(five) years of administrative supervisory-­‐level experience.

• Related experience in non-­‐profit organization preferred, but not required.
