Part-time Teaching Artists--FotoFest/Literacy Through Photography


FotoFest is looking for an experienced photographer for part-time teaching artist for its Literacy Through Photography Program.

Literacy Through Photography (LTP) is the classroom-based education program of FotoFest International. LTP is a writing program designed to help classroom students achieve better writing and communication skills through the use of photography and visual imagery.

Position Description: Teaching artists collaborate with classroom teachers to implement the LTP curriculum and create exciting writing and photography projects that meet core-academic goals. Teachers are provided with carefully designed lesson plans that offer new writing techniques, basic photography skills, and effective teaching strategies that transform the classroom into a stimulating environment to give students the confidence to express themselves through writing and imagery.

Part-time instructors will be hired on a contractual basis to work with schools or after-school programs. Full training is provided by FotoFest. Evening hours may be required.

Qualifications: Ideal candidates will have classroom experience, preferably a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts or Education. A positive attitude and enthusiasm for teaching arts in the classroom are necessary.
