The Muse
The Muse is an intensive painting course for adults focusing on the work of Lucian Freud. What does it mean to have a muse? What is the muse's role in the history of painting? A local artist guides this class in exploring figure painting as it relates to the work in Lucian Freud: Portraits. The course will be structured with lectures, based on Freud and other figurative artists of his time and throughout art history; extensive painting sessions with a model; critiques; and a final reception. To ensure that everyone has their own materials, for personal use and to keep and build on after the completion of the class, the Museum is offering premade painting kits or a list of supplies that can be purchased independently. Registration is required. Enroll early; space is limited to 15.
