Earlier this year, the President and First Lady traveled to Austin for the South by Southwest (SXSW) conference. Apparently, Obama was very inspired by the mass meeting of creative thinkers and doers. The White House blog states, “On Monday, October 3, we’re celebrating that spirit of innovation with a White House event called South by South Lawn.” ATX meets DC with SXSL!

This event is being hosting in coordination with the American Film Institute (AFI), C3 Presents, the President’s Committee on Arts and Humanities (PCAH), and SXSW. You can nominate yourself or someone you know to attend SXSL on the blog page, but the deadline is September 10 at 5pm.
