This is not from Box 13. Houston artist Prince V. Thomas was actually on an episode of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”

Okay, no wins a million dollars or any dollars at all; the winning team will receive a “custom designed trophy.”

Houston’s artist-run Box 13 art space is hosting “Trivia Box” tomorrow evening, March 31. (Sign up begins at 7pm; contest begins at 7:30pm.) Teams of up to six players will compete to test their knowledge of art-related trivia. Box 13 resident artist Jonathan Leach threw down the gauntlet with a Facebook post: “Who thinks they can defeat me?!”

Game on! Trivia question for today, March 30: One of the most famous painters of the Western world was born on this day many years ago. Name the artist.

It’s amazing that “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” is still part of the culture almost seventeen years after its debut, when, for the first couple of years, it seemed like a fad. It was a fad, however, that I was really taken with, and I called that phone line that Regis Philbin touted at the end of every episode almost every day that it was open. And a year and a half after that debut, I won $32,000 on the show.

The answer, by the way, is Van Gogh, but I had to phone a friend for that…
