Austin Sculptor Wins Design Award for Art Installation

margoMargo Sawyer has won the CoD+A (Collaboration of Design+Art) Award for best residential art installation (with project partners Lawrence W. Speck, architect, and Wendy Dunnam Tita, interior designer). The first annual award is given out by The Art Commission, which connects site-specific artists with design professionals and clients, and Interior Design magazine. Sawyer and the winners of other categories are featured in the August issue of Interior Design; the winning projects can also be viewed on the CoD+A Awards website.

Sawyer, a long-time professor of sculpture/studio art in the MFA program at UT Austin, is best-known in Houston for her work Synchronicity of Color, the “art boxes” installation at Discovery Green.
