Chris Giftos, former Director of Special Events and Master Floral Designer for the Metropolitan Museum of Art has agreed to step in as the keynote speaker and guest of honor for the Dallas Art Museum League’s upcoming Art In Bloom event, scheduled for March 26, after the unexpected death on January 14 of the announced honoree, Nancy Clarke, former White House Chief Floral Designer.

Giftos will share his stories and demonstrate his favorite floral arrangements at the Luncheon and Symposium, the League’s chief fundraising event. Mr. Giftos’ announcement was made by Art in Bloom co-chairs Susan Fisk and Emily Maduro. On February 24, the League held an official announcement party at Cebolla Fine Flower’s new 15,000 square foot floral design facility located at the corner of Maple Avenue and Inwood Lane.

Chris Giftos.
I came across this article and remembered how we worked on many occasions at the Met. I can see by your photo that you have not lost your boyish look. In case my name doesn’t ring a bell…I was the security manager from ’74 to ’84. I am pleased to know that you are still doing great things.

Best regards, Allen Gore
