El Centro College Student Michelle Reyes Awarded DADA’s Edith Baker Art Scholarship

Michelle Reyes won a check for $2,500, a mentorship, an internship, and an artist studio visit at the annual Edith Baker Scholarship show held last week at the MAC in Dallas. Reyes is a visual art student from El Centro College of the Dallas County Community College District.

The other finalists, all DCCCD students, were: Taylor Pierre Bryant, Evan Davis, Isiac Ramirez, Heidi O’Ferrall, Jesus Segovia, Giovanni Gonzalez, Holly Lorren, and Cathy Night. Artworks by all nine contenders was on view at the Sept. 9th reception.

Times are tough- last year’s Baker Scholarship winner, Brian Hauser, got $4000!

thanks for posting this! yup we had to reduce our scholarship…sadly…hoping lots of folks come to panel discussions on Sept. 24 as the $10 admission goes to the scholarship piggy bank…and/or folks can be a Friend of DADA (see our website)…get listing on our website and give to a good cause
