The early fair gets the worm: Houston Fine Art Fair announced for September 15-18

by Bill Davenport July 3, 2011

I’m sure you’re already heard, but  The Houston Fine Art Fair, inevitably to be known as “the first fair” arrives at the George R. Brown Convention Center from September 15-18. Pipping its rival, the Texas Contemporary art fair, at the post by a month. Like TXC (I’m abbreviating the names of both fairs to save myself endless typing as the fall approaches), HFAF will sponsor on-site installations, special projects, and panel discussions; like TXC, HFAF has museum sponsorship, this time from the MFAH. The HFAF Gallery roster so far:

Meredith Long & Company
Barbara Davis Gallery
Hiram Butler Gallery
McClain Gallery
Moody Gallery
Sicardi Gallery
Anya Tish Gallery
Pavel Zoubok (New York)
Margaret Thatcher Projects (New York)
Diana Lowenstein (Miami)

Hollis Taggart Galleries (New York)
McCormick Gallery (Chicago)

Louis Stern Fine Arts (Los Angeles)

Galerie Caprice Horn (Berlin)
