Texas Tech in Lubbock is one of the only American universities to offer a PhD degree in art, but the disturbing trend may be gaining steam, says Daniel Grant in yesterday’s Huffington Post. “What I think we’re seeing is credentialism creep,” said William Barrett, executive director of the San Francisco-based Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design, “and it’s not a healthy sign.”
