Future Plan and Program book launch week

Future Plan and Program is a publishing project by current CORE Fellow Steffani Jemison featuring book-length literary works by visual artists. The first set of six works will be available in May 2011. On Tuesday, April 19, artists Steffani Jemison & Martine Syms are speaking at Prairie View A&M University’s Coleman Library at 11am and 1pm; meanwhile, back at UH’s art buidling on the same day and time, New York-based author Jibade-Khalil Huffman will do a “performative slide show.” Wednesday there’s an artists and author’s roundtable; Thursday, Chicago-based artist Harold Mendez will speak, followed by a series of performances by Future Plan and Program authors at the Houston Museum of African American Culture, 4807 Caroline Street. All events are FREE and open to the public.
